FREQUENCY DRIFT

With their distinctive blend of cinematic music, outside-the-box instrumentation and female vocals, Frequency Drift have continued to receive high acclaim from reviewers across genres. Formed in Bayreuth, Germany by Andreas Hack (keys), the band released their debut, Personal Effects Pt. 1, in 2008. The follow-up album, Personal Effects Pt. 2 (2009) showcased Frequency Drift’s talent for strong melodies and atmosphere. The 2011 album Ghosts… saw the first notable appearance of Nerissa Schwarz (electric harp), as well as an evolution towards an enthralling, melancholic mixture of art rock, ambient, folk and metal. …Laid to rest (2012, Gentle Art of Music) continued this path with more world music influences. Frequency Drift’s eclectic 5th album Over (2014) established a writing collaboration between Andreas and Nerissa and was marked by experimentation with electric harp soundscapes and keyboard textures. In the same year, Frequency Drift released Summer, a wistful collection of previously unreleased songs, and was joined by drummer Wolfgang Ostermann, who brought fresh rhythmic drive to the music. Over the years, the band performed live at renowned international festivals, including Night of the Prog (Germany), Summer’s End (UK) and Progdreams (NL). February 2016 saw the release of their 6th album Last, Frequency Drift’s darkest, most cohesive and cinematic work so far. Current line-up:

  • Nadja Jaye – vocals
  • Nerissa Schwarz – harp, mellotron
  • Wolfgang Ostermann – drums
  • Andreas Hack – keys
