Haken have become a major name on the prog scene since the release of their third album “The Mountain” in 2013. Not only did this get the band enormous acclaim, but it also gave them the chance to undertake a huge touring schedule. They played with bands such as “Between The Burried And Me” , “The Neal Morse Band” and “Leprous”, headlined the first ever US shows, were invited to play on the bill for “Cruise To The Edge”, as well as appearing on the bills at the ” Hellfest”(one of Europe’s biggest summer festivals), and at the inaugural “Ramblin’ Man Fair” in the UK.

Haken are one of the most interesting sounds that emerge from the modern progressive movement. Formed in 2007, Haken is a virtuous and eclectic progressive rock / metal band, they are from London, England, and comprise some of the best young musicians in the country. Since their debut in July 2007, Haken were immediately made to understand the enormous potential that brought them soon to act as supporters to bands like Riverside and King’s X in addition to performing as a headliner around London, including several sold-out at the Peel in Kingston, one of the most prestigious British rock clubs.

But now all attention is on their fourth album, ‘Affinity’. And as usual they tried to impress going to deepen their love for the music of the ’80s. The very title of the disc suggests how their sound is still looking for a new direction, although it has all the knowledge and ‘affinity’ with what happened so far in the  prog field. On “Affinity” there is also one guest – Einar Solberg vocalist of Leprous, who guests on the 15 minutes song “The Architect” which  encompasses many of the expressive tones of the band.
