LE VELE DI ONIRIDE is the result of a long journey that began in 2006, when Nello De Leo founded the band Ellephant.

Songs from that repertoire have been revisited and transformed, while others were created from scratch over the past few years. Indeed, some of the songs on their debut album have several years of tribulation behind them, while others are more recent.

The idea was to experiment as much as possible with the sounds that most shaped us musically. With that previous idea in mind, in 2017 Nello decided to restart from the same formula, and thus Le Vele di Oniride was born.

Classic Rock journalist Gianni Della Cioppa says of them: “The meeting point between ‘Il Biglietto Per L’Inferno’ and ‘Premiata Forneria Marconi’. When the melody of prog meets the boundaries of dark rock, Le Vele di Oniride opens up, challenging the seas of banality, to give us an album capable of satisfying even the most discerning listener.”
